2. Begin back to school sleep routines 2 weeks before the start of term
3. Label everything and we mean everything
4. Get children excited about the start of term by going shopping for a new school bag or stationery
5. Limit stationary supplies to what will fit into one pencil case
6. Encourage children to pack their own bags the night before to encourage independence
7. Encourage children to set goals for the term ahead with a reward chart for achieving the goal
8. Talk to your child about any fears they may have before school begins
9. Talk to the school about any concerns as soon as possible
10. Talk to other parents about any concerns as they have may have been through ‘this stage’ and can offer words of advice or comfort
